Regina Bono, age 72, of Pond Creek, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on March 3, 2026, in Enid, Oklahoma. She was a deeply loved sister, mother, grandmother, and aunt whose warmth, laughter, and kind heart will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Regina was born on April 18, 1953, in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, to her parents, Mabel Marie Busse Bono and Joe Anthony Bono. She grew up on a small family farm just outside of town. Family was always at the center of Regina’s life, something that came naturally growing up with nine siblings. With five sisters and four brothers, their home was full of love and many lifelong memories, and Regina carried that deep sense of family with her throughout her life.
After graduating from high school, Regina moved to Tulsa, where she married and began building her life. At the age of 20, she welcomed her first son, Jason Thrower, on June 25, 1973, at a moment that began one of the roles she cherished most: being a mother.
In the early 1980s, Regina remarried and later moved to Enid, Oklahoma, where she welcomed her second son, Patrick Crabb, on January 14, 1985. Her sons were the pride and joy of her life, and she devoted herself wholeheartedly to raising and caring for them.
Regina was known for her strong work ethic and caring nature. For many years she worked as a self-employed housekeeper for several families. Through her dedication, kindness, and friendly spirit, she became much more than someone who helped care for their homes, she became a trusted friend and a part of their families.
Outside of work, Regina devoted herself to being a loving homemaker. She found happiness in life’s simple joys. She loved camping and fishing, singing and dancing, listening to music of all kinds, traveling, and spending time socializing with friends. But above all else, she treasured the moments spent with her family—sharing laughter, stories, and love that created memories that will last a lifetime.
Regina had lived in Pond Creek, Oklahoma, for the past 16 years after moving there to be closer to family and friends. It was there that she continued to build many meaningful relationships and memories.
On February 26, 2015, Regina experienced one of the happiest moments of her life when she became a grandmother to twin granddaughters, whom she adored greatly.
Regina is survived by her son Jason Thrower; her daughter-in-law Lanna Lea Ford Lamb Thrower; and her beloved granddaughters, Gabrielle Lea Thrower and Stella Ann Thrower, all of Pond Creek, Oklahoma. She is also survived by her son Patrick Crabb of Enid, Oklahoma; her sisters Mary Claxton of Tulsa, Deborah Chase of Mounds, Joanie Scheuerman of Bixby, Carol Phillips of Okmulgee, and Lucy Pollard of Tulsa; her brothers Steve Bono of Hewitt TX and Philip Bono of Tulsa; as well as 13 nieces and nephews who will remember her with love.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mabel Marie Busse Bono and Joe Anthony Bono, and her brothers Mike Bono and Pat Bono.
Regina’s love for her family, her laughter, and her generous heart will live on in the memories of those who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
Memorial service for Regina will be held at the Methodist Church in Pond Creek, Oklahoma, on March 14, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. officiated by Nathan Nance. Memorials may be made to the education fund for Gabrielle and Stella Thrower in care of the Wilson Funeral Home, Pond Creek, OK.
