On July 20, 2026, Marvin Lee Neilson of Pond Creek, Oklahoma, passed away at the age of 71.
Marvin was born on June 20, 1955, to Betty and Earl Neilson of Pond Creek, Oklahoma, where he spent his entire childhood. He was the youngest of four siblings.
He graduated from Pond Creek-Hunter High School in 1973, where he was a member of the Bearcat football team, the agriculture team, FFA, and served as a theater stagehand. Just over three years later, on December 13, 1976, he married Pamela Myers. Together they had five children: Adreanne Dawn, Sonia Beth, Lee Marvin, David Lee, and Lindsay Renee.
Marvin was a hard-working family man who held many different jobs throughout his life, including work in the oilfield, operating heavy equipment, masonry, and garage door installation, along with several others in between. No matter how busy he was, he always made time for the things he enjoyed, including stock car racing and fishing. Just a week before his passing, he took some of his great-grandchildren fishing for the very first time.
Marvin is survived by his four children: Adreanne Wheeler, Sonia (Donnie) Grimes, David Neilson, and Lindsay Neilson; 10 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Betty and Earl Neilson; his three siblings, Larry Neilson, Bonnie Norris, and Helen Moore; the mother of his children, Pamela Myers; his son, Lee Neilson; and his son-in-law, Bernard Wheeler.
No formal services are scheduled at this time. The family will hold a private gathering to lay Marvin to rest at a later date.
