Marvin Gene Abbott

Marvin G. Abbott, age 62, of Independence, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, July 21, 2026, in St. Luke Hospital, Independence, Missouri. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Wilson Funeral Home, Pond Creek, Oklahoma.

Marvin was born February 6, 1964, in Atlanta, Georgia. The family moved to Pond Creek in 1989, where he attended Pond Creek Schools. Following high school, he worked several kinds of jobs; he was often described as an ‘entrepreneur.’

He is preceded in death by a niece Diane Wills, and his grandparents. He is survived by his mother, Cindy Humphrey, of Pond Creek, sister, Shawna Sloan and wife Kim, of Lufkin, Texas, nephew, Daniel Wills, of Lufkin, Texas, nephew, J.J. Holmes of, Enid, Oklahoma, niece Cheryl Russell and husband Trevin, Lowell, Arkansas, as well as other friends.

Memorial contributions in Marvin’s name may be made to Wilson Funeral Home, Pond Creek, to go toward funeral expenses.
