Kenneth Leroy Nichols

Kenneth Leroy Nichols was born in Hillsdale, OK to Archie and Faye (Boehm) Nichols. An only child, he
spent his childhood in Hillsdale and Fairview, before moving to Nash where he graduated Nash High
School in 1955. He married Betty Johnson on June 4, 1959, and they had three children.
Kenneth spent his life farming around the Nash community. His days were spent riding tractors and
taking care of the cattle. He loved going to the stock car races with his children when they were young.
As the kids grew older, he loved visits from them and the grandkids, especially when he could convince
them to help on the farm. When not farming, you could find him in his favorite chair - no one loved a
good nap more than Kenneth.
In 1996, he began a lifetime companionship with Frances Moore of Nash. She was a faithful companion
and dedicated caregiver.
Kenneth passed away with family by his side at The Commons Nursing Home in Enid, on December 27,
2022.
He is survived by his three children and their spouses, Richard and Shelley Nichols of Broken Arrow, Ron
and Claire Nichols of Edmond, and Lee and Rhonda Zander of North Enid, as well as his companion,
Frances Moore of Nash. He is also survived by grandchildren Dr. Jenifer and Michael Haverfield of
Argyle, Texas, Ron Jr. and Valerie Nichols of Kremlin, Dr. Lauren Nichols and fiancée Colin Gordon of
Tulsa, Drs. Tyler and Emily Zander of Tampa, Florida, Blaine Zander of North Enid, and Emma Grace
Nichols of Edmond, and great-grandchildren Anna Nichols, Hunter Haverfield, Hayden Haverfield, and
Jack Zander.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, Archie and Faye Nichols, and granddaughter, Taylor Lea
Zander.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 31, 2022, at New Home Cemetery in
Nash with Pastor Matt Watkins officiating. Arrangements by Wilson Funeral Home in Pond Creek.
Memorials may be made in Kenneth’s honor to Nash Fire Department or New Home Cemetery, Nash,
Oklahoma.
