Jerrilyn L. Lee

December 5, 1936 — December 1, 2025

Pond Creek, OK

Jerrilyn Lee Hamilton, “Jerri” was born in Enid on December 5, 1936, in Enid and grew up on the family farm East of Jefferson, Oklahoma, where she helped milk and raise dairy cattle, and chickens, gathered chicken eggs, and other farm duties before and after school. She attended all of her school years, graduating from Jefferson High School in Jefferson, Oklahoma in 1955. After high school, she attended Business College in Enid, Oklahoma, where she lived and worked. In 1960, Jerri married her sweetheart, Dwayne Lee. They had two children, Doug Lee of Enid, and Robin Hamman of Edmond. Jerri worked in Enid for many years at the Champlain Oil Company. When Champlain moved their home office from Enid to Fort Worth, Texas, she went to work for the Oklahoma Department of Human Services office in Grant County at Medford, Oklahoma, where she later retired in 2001.

Jerri was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother, unwavering in her support. She attended every football game, basketball game, track meet, band concert, volleyball, and tennis match that she possibly could. Even after her own children were grown, she and Dwayne loved traveling and supporting their grandchildren’s events and the Pond Creek teams for many years, especially since Dwayne worked at the Pond Creek-Hunter school until retirement.

In retirement, Jerri enjoyed adventuring on numerous bicycle trips with Dwayne. She was an avid gardener in her spare time and loved tending to her flourishing vegetable and flower gardens. She loved seeing her dear friends daily at the Pond Creek Senior Center for coffee, cards, puzzles, lunch, and fellowship. Jerri was an active member of the Pond Creek Methodist Church for decades. Unfortunately, health concerns prompted a recent necessary move to be near her daughter in Oklahoma City, where she passed on December 1, 2025, passing only 4 days short of her 89th birthday.

Jerri was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Conrad Hamilton, and Elizabeth Marie Hamilton, Her husband of 57 years, Dwayne, and her son Doug.

She is survived by her daughter, Robin Hamman and her husband John of Edmond, Oklahoma, along with 2 grandchildren, Kristin Lawson (married to Joshua Lawson, residing in Boerne, Texas) and Karlie Sample (married to Jaylin Sample, residing in Chicago, Illinois). She was overjoyed to meet her 2 great grandchildren, Elaina and Luke Lawson.

She will be dearly missed by family and many friends for her faith, warm smile, contagious laughter and sense of humor, and heart for people. Jerri was an example of a life well lived. “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” 2 Timothy 4:7
