Billy Gene Winkelman

Billy Gene Winkelman, 72, was called home by his Heavenly Father on Friday February 20, 2026, in Blackwell, OK. Billy was much loved by his family and friends and will be missed by all that knew him.

Billy was born April 1, 1953, in Ponca City to Joe V. Winkelman and Wynona Mae Winkelman. At the time of his death Billy was residing at the Hillcrest Manor Nursing Home in Blackwell, OK.

Billy loved people and if you met him and had the time to talk you were his friend. He loved music with one of his favorite singers being Kenny Rogers and his song “The Gambler”. He also liked to play the guitar. He had many interests which included fishing, his dogs, cows and chickens, card games and walking. Bill loved God and was strong in his faith, he prayed for everyone. Bill loved family get-togethers for the holidays and birthday parties. He loved to joke around with everyone, he was always laughing and smiling.

Bill was preceded in death by Joe V. Winkelman; his parents, John Shaw and Wynona Shaw Jinkens; two sisters, Deborah Holden and Mary Ann Cooper; two brothers, Morris Shaw and Carroll Shaw; two brothers-in-law John Holden and Allen Hopkins; sisters-in-law Sheila Winkelman and Diane Winkelman.

Bill is survived by his sisters, Patricia Hopkins and Aileen Easter; brothers, Patrick Winkelman, Terry Winkelman, Jerry Winkelman, Robert Shaw and Johnny Shaw.

There will be a visitation from 4:00 p.m.- 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at Wilson Funeral Home, Pond Creek, OK. Graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 27, 2026, at the Pond Creek Cemetery, Pond Creek, OK officiated by Pastor Robert Shaw. Arrangements by Wilson Funeral Home, Pond Creek, OK.
