On the morning of December 8, 1930, Grace Edith (nee’ Moran) and Zina Glover McIntosh went coyote hunting. Within 24 hours, Billie Louise was born at home. Billie was the middle of three girls, Glendeen was 15 years older and Donna Jean was six years younger.

When Billie was five years old, her parents bought a farm near Gilbert, OK, where she attended Gore Consolidated Schools. As a 1 st grader, she broke the same arm twice; she also played sticks and cymbals in her grade school band. Even though her school years started out roughly, she rallied and finished 12th grade as basketball queen and valedictorian. (Beauty and brains!)

As a high schooler, William “Bill” Foster from Nash coached grade school basketball. At one of the games he was coaching, he saw Billie and fell in love at first sight. Before he even had a chance to meet her, he graduated and enlisted in the Merchant Marines during World War II. While on active duty, he would tell his shipmates he had a girl at home he was going to marry. When asked to show a picture he would just say, she is in my mind. As soon as the war and his enlistment ended, he began his quest to find his love. During her junior year, he found her at a basketball game, and they went on their first double date that night. After a basketball game her senior year, Bill proposed.

Upon graduation, 17-year-old Billie began working at Kress’s in Enid and planning her wedding. On October 10, 1948, at the First Baptist Church of Nash, they became Bill and Billie Foster. They began their honeymoon in New Orleans, Louisiana, so he could show her where his ships were ported. It concluded in Dallas at the Texas State Fair. This stop was twofold, firstly so Bill could prove to his shipmate his love was real. Secondly, to thank him for the pig he shipped them through the USPS as a wedding gift.

They began life together east of Nash, OK, where Bill worked for Goldspot, farmed, and drove buses. Billie was a homemaker and helped Bill on the farm. In November 1950, Deborah Ann was born. In December 1952, Diana Gail made an early arrival. In 1956, the family moved to Nash where Bill remodeled and added to their home on Maple Street. In October 1959, Denise Renee was born to complete their family.

After moving to Nash, Billie began working beside Bill as a custodian for Jet-Nash Public Schools. They worked side by side for 21 years. After retirement, they created B&B Crafts. Bill did the woodworking and Billie painted the crafts they sold at craft fairs. During retirement, she was able to travel visiting California, Oregon, Vermont, Florida, and Aruba.

Billie lived her life grounded in faith, compassion and devotion; she carried her faith quietly but faithfully in all that she did. Perhaps other than her family, nothing was more important to her than her faith and service to the Lord. Billie was a long-time and active member of the First Baptist Church of Nash where she was a member of WMU and helped with bible school and church activities.

Many years were spent together farming, bus riding, sewing, canning, raising chickens, and raising her family. The chickens and all that came with them were her least favorite. Her favorite and most important was her family. Watching the Oklahoma City Thunder was a close second.

She and Bill loved spending time with their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. They loved taking the grandchildren boating and camping. Memories were made every trip; from people stealing clothes off the clothesline, having to row the boat across the lake from Bird Island, and having a tornado move the truck and camper.

Following Bill’s passing in 2013, Billie moved into Burgundy Place. That is where she met and married her second husband Clarence Christy in September 2018. In 2020, they moved to Golden Oaks where he passed away in 2022.

In December 2025 she celebrated her 95 th birthday with most of her family and lots of friends in attendance. In April 2026, Billie moved to Community Health Center. In the days prior to her passing, she was surrounded by the family she loved.

Billie is preceded in death by her husbands, Bill and Clarence, her parents Edith and Zina, her sisters, and son-in-law, Gary.

She is survived by her daughters Debbie (Chuck) Carson of Nash, OK, Diana Madison of Fairfax, OK, and Denise (Kevin) Wilson of Edmond, OK; her grandchildren Shane (Amber) Green of Jet, OK, Brandi (Byron) Dell of Medford, OK, Ryan (Keli) Madison of Fairfax, OK, J.J. (Sarah) Green of Nash, OK, Casey (Matt) Beartrack of Stillwater, OK, Kristel (Ryan) Steele of Stillwater, OK, Lance Madison of Fairfax, OK, McCall (Michael) Pace of Centennial, CO, Graham Wilson of Oklahoma City, OK, and Casey (Taylor) Carson of Nash, OK; great-grandchildren Brock (Kara), Braden (Chloe), and Braxton (Addison) Buller, Cadence, Macey, Levon, and Olive Beartrack, Natalee, Hesston, Paizley, and Hagen Green, Chezney, Cade, and Cassidy Dell, Savannah and Sawyer Steele, Rhett Carson, Kendallyn and Owen Madison, and Charlie and Lanie Carson; and several great-great grandchildren.
