Betty Carol (Johnson) Parks

Betty was born to Frank and Doris (Combs) Johnson in Nash, Oklahoma, where she was a lifelong resident and a member of Nash Christian Church. She graduated from Nash High School in 1959. She married Kenneth Nichols on June 4, 1959. They had three children together. She later married Brent Parks on October 15, 1976.

Betty was an avid OKC Thunder fan who never missed watching a game. She enjoyed reading, circle word puzzles, making cross stitch tea towels, and working in her yard. She also enjoyed baking banana nut bread and giving it to others. Known for her immaculate housekeeping, you would never find a speck of dust or anything out of place. She was very proud of her home. 

Betty passed away with family by her side at Greenbrier Skilled Nursing, in Enid, OK, on November 26, 2024. 

She is survived by her three children and their spouses, Richard and Shelley Nichols of Broken Arrow, Ron and Claire Nichols of Edmond, and Lee and Rhonda Zander of North Enid; grandchildren, Dr. Jenifer and Michael Haverfield of Argyle, Texas, Ron Jr. and Valerie Nichols of Enid, Emma Nichols of Edmond, Dr. Lauren and Colin Gordon of Tulsa, Drs. Tyler and Emily Zander of Tampa, Florida, and Blaine Zander of North Enid; and great-grandchildren, Hunter Haverfield, Hayden Haverfield, Anna Nichols, Adelaide Gordon, Jack Zander, and Laney Zander. She is also survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Marcine and Gary Clift of Alma, Arkansas.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Doris Johnson; granddaughter, Taylor Lea Zander; and her siblings, Bonita Rae Mounce, Frankie Smith, Drexel Johnson, and Kay Beaver. 

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at New Home Cemetery in Nash, with Pastor Matt Watkins officiating. 

Memorials may be made in her honor to New Home Cemetery in Nash or Nash Christian Church.
