Funeral Service for Barbara Jean (Adams) Campbell will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, July 18, 2026, at the Wilson Funeral Home, Pond Creek, Oklahoma. Interment will follow at the McKeeman Cemetery, Jefferson, Oklahoma.
On July 12, 1933, the stork made another stop at the farm of J.Q. and Marietta Adams just west of Jefferson, Oklahoma. This time the stork left a baby girl, Barbara Jean. She joined her sister Joan, brothers Jerome and Rod. Barb as she was affectionately now attended and graduated Jefferson School. After graduation Barb attended Northern Oklahoma College in Tonkawa and graduated with an Associate Degree in Business.
Shortly after college, Barb moved to California to be close to her brothers Jerome and Rod. While Barb lived in California, she met and married Bob Campbell. Barb became a buyer for women’s clothing for J.C. Penny. Adventure fever soon struck and off to Florida Barb went. She lived in Florida for about one year, then she called her own personal moving company, her brother John. He moved her to Houston where she spent most of her life. Barb became a steel buyer for Cameron Iron. She bought steel all over the world. Always wanting things to be done right, Barb would don her hard hat and high heel shoes and walk out to the workers to be certain they were doing good work.
While she was in Houston, she met a lifetime friend, Olga Fowler. They traveled and together enjoyed life. Barb moved to Tyler, Texas where Olga had moved after Barb retired. The two of them made many trips together and enjoyed getting to see so many different places. While in Tyler, Barb was stricken with breast cancer. She moved to Arizona for her treatments. When she defeated cancer, she decided to move to Enid, Oklahoma to be closer to family. Once again, her personal mover was there to help.
After just a few short years Barb moved to CHC in Wakita, Oklahoma. She lived and thrived at Wakita until her death. She considered everyone who cared for her in Wakita her other family and was fondly known by all as Aunt Barb.
Barb was preceded in death by her parents, J.Q. and Marietta (Hawkins) Adams, an infant sister, Joyce, her sister Joan and her brothers Jerome and Rod.
Barb is survived by her brother John (Maryann) and numerous nephews, nieces and many friends.
In lieu of flowers, Barb would appreciate donations to her final resting place, McKeeman (Fairview) Cemetery.
